We have stunning dining rooms available with: Deco Decant - seating 10 guests and opening onto a private rooftop balcony and the Grand Dining room can seat 20 for dining, 50 for presentations or about 120 people standing. History of the building
Recently converted into penthouse apartments, the Dome is now one of New Zealand's most exclusive address
The Dome is located in the T&G Building which was built as part of Napier’s reconstruction effort, after a devastating earthquake destroyed the city in 1931. The reconstruction was based on the prevailing architectural influences of the day: Spanish mission, neo-classical and of course Art Deco.Napier is now internationally recognized as the Art Deco capital of the world. Nowhere else can you see such a variety and concentration of buildings in this distinctive style.
The T&G Building sits proudly on the corner of Marine Parade and Emerson Street – directly opposite the Sound Shell and seaside gardens. Completed in 1935, the building was originally the home of Temperance General Insurance, a company that emerged during the Prohibition Era in the early 1900s.
Architecturally, the T&G building Built in the stripped classical style,. Due to its striking architectural features and location, the Dome has become a Napier icon and one of the most photographed buildings in the country, characterized by a distinctive copper domed roof or cupola, complete with clock tower.
